About Interaction Design - Barcelona, Spain, MA - at Harbour.Space University

The Harbour.Space Interaction Design Master’s programme blends technical know-how, interdisciplinary research, and a creative artistic-scientific approach to enable the development of creative interfaces that generate progressive and innovative applications for media design, media research, media art, and communication. The department is led by internationally renowned user experience design duo Irene Pereyra and Anton Repponen.

This programme contains an extensive number of real interaction design cases moving through which the students will gain a solid understanding of the creative and decision-making process in the design department of a real company or a design agency.

Entry requirements

While we are highly selective, we do not base the decision on the review of the grades and transcripts alone. We consider the overall certificates, motivation, and recommendation letters as well as awards, achievements, and extracurricular activities.

English requirements:

- 100% of classes are taught in English. We assess your language proficiency during your admissions interview.

- If you have a proficiency certificate from either TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridge, or SATs, this will strengthen your application and you’re welcome to upload it.

Fees, Funding and Scholarships at Harbour.Space University

We offer a range of scholarship opportunities and they’re available to students as soon as they apply to one of our programmes. Three different scholarships are available:

Merit-based Scholarships are awarded by Harbour.Space programme directors or sponsored by our academic partners. They are based on students’ demonstration of extraordinary academic achievement or leadership potential.
Women in Technology Scholarships are created to support women who are beginning their careers in technology. The goal of this scholarship is to encourage women to pursue careers in technology and become leaders in the field.
Graduate Assistantships are available to graduate students who are proven leaders in their fields and can share their knowledge with the next generation of students by their assistance in the classroom.

Harbour.Space often goes to great lengths to secure scholarships for students. We believe that scholarships can level the playing field and allow gifted young people to enrol and study at our university, regardless of their financial situation or geographic location.

The value you'll get from this university is not necessarily by learning different tools and strategies but rather from the exposure to the industry and top people working there (which I think is what exactly Master's courses should be about). Also, you will enjoy sunny Barcelona, lots of festivals (party, design, tech) and conferences where the university can get you free access to (OFFF, Sonar, also discounts for other festivals) with a community of students from all over the world. After Harbour.Space I immediately got a job in my home city. Thanks to one of my teachers, I also got a couple of interviews at Google.
