About Clinical Practice (Top-Up), BSc (Hons) - at The University of Bradford

The BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice programme allows students who already hold a health care qualification at level 4, level 5 or level 6 to ‘top-up’ to BSc Hons level.

You will undertake an individualised programme of study to achieve the BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice. Alternatively, you may choose to undertake just a single module or specific combination of modules, for example those modules required to meet the professional development needs of paramedics employed by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service . An academic advisor will discuss your options with you and support your choices.

The BSc (Hons) Clinical Practice programme is designed to enhance existing skills and develop new competencies to enable you to assume significant responsibility within an organisation. You will critically evaluate and integrate key concepts, values and ethics relevant to your work situation and your professional field, informed by knowledge at the forefront of your discipline. In addition, the programme prepares you to assess, plan, implement and evaluate the quality of care delivered as an on-going and cumulative process, and take responsibility for setting or monitoring and evaluating standards for the provision of care within an area of practice.

The programme enhances the skills required to exercise initiative and personal responsibility, and to make decisions in unpredictable contexts. It also focuses on working effectively in a team and enabling services users, family members, support workers and interprofessional teams to participate in plans and decisions that affect them.
