While studying Master's Degree Program in Crisis Management and Peacebuilding gives you in-depth knowledge about crisis management and peacebuilding at national and international level. The main perspective is governance under uncertainty caused by crisis, disasters and conflicts. You will develop skills to analyze and manage uncertainty in light of knowledge about crisis management systems, legal norms, power relations and planning for societal reconstruction. You will get in-depth training in analysis methods and writing of scientific reports.
The program can be attended for one year for the degree of Master of Science 60 credits or for two years for the degree of Master of Science 120 credits. In both cases the first year starts with mandatory courses such as Crisis Management Systems in Comparative Perspective, Global and Regional Governance, and Reconstruction after Crisis and Disasters, as well as courses in method which will prepare you for the work on Master's Degree Thesis. There are also opportunities to study elective advanced level courses from other disciplines and universities within Sweden as well as abroad.
Master's Degree Programme includes internship period that can be conducted once or twice during the programme. Thus, the programme is characterized by a high degree of free choice of courses, internships and thesis topics.

Eligibility
Proficiency in English equivalent to Swedish upper secondary course English 6/level 2. A Bachelor's Degree (equivalent to a Swedish Kandidatexamen, 180
ECTS) from an internationally recognised university with 90 credits in Peace and Conflict Studies or equivalent, or a Bachelor's Degree with 90 credits in Political Science and a with minimum of 30 credits in Peace and Conflict Studies or equivalent, inclouding an independent written thesis equivalent of at least 15 ECTS. If you are still working towards your undergraduate degree, you need to include with your application a document from your current University, outlining when you are expected to graduate as well as a course outline for the last semester.

Academic credits completed by the last application date (in the range of 30-285 credits equivalent to ECTS)
European Union (EU), European Economic Area (EEA) countries and Switzerland citizens are not required to pay application and tuition fees for education at Swedish universities at the undergraduate and master's level.
