This cutting-edge MA programme explores the sources and consequences of political violence and terrorism, as well as the crucial ethical questions involved. Issues and topics examined include: The sources and nature of political violence and terrorism. Debates regarding the prevention of terrorism, counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency policy. The circumstances under which armed resistance and revolution can be permissible. Whether democracies can justify or excuse the use of torture in combating terrorism. Entry requirements

Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.5 with no less than 6.0 in any band.
