About Information Technology Management for Business, BSc - at University of Exeter Business School
The IT Management for Business (ITMB) BSc (Hons) Degree is an initiative of the e-skills council of the UK (www.e-skills.com) aiming to provide training for IT managers working in business. This programme is already offered by a number of universities and Exeter will be offering it from October 2007. The national aim of e-skills is to ensure that graduates acquire the right combination of business and technical skills that are vital to business.
The research and teaching expertise within the University of Exeter means that we are able to offer a high-quality programme that combines a vocationally relevant training with a research-led academic education. This will lead to a programme that will appeal to well-qualified applicants and attract excellent candidates into the area of ITMB. This programme is offered jointly between the School of Business and Economics, SoBE, and the School of Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics, SECAM. A level Mathematics, or the equivalent, will be required for this programme.
A unique feature of this degree is the extent of employer involvement in addition to traditional lectures and tutorials there is a programme of employer involvement to keep you up to date with topical issues facing the IT sector. For example, there is a regular series of key-note lectures provided by IT professionals in business.
