About Mathematics, MSc - at University of Klagenfurt

Do you consider mathematics to be the most beautiful language in the world due to its precision? Would you like to further enhance the competences you gained in your Bachelor's degree programme so you can contribute to new accomplishments with the "key technology mathematics"? If so, the English-language Master's degree programme "Mathematics" is exactly what you're looking for!

We offer three areas of specialisation: "Applied Analysis", "Applied Statistics" and "Discrete Mathematics". That said, mathematics is more than theory for us. With our extension subjects "Informatics" and "Information and Communications Engineering", we render mathematics highly applicable. This will give you a first insight into areas which may later serve as points of entry for your successful professional career: from technology to the natural and life sciences to business and finance. Mathematics lays the foundation for countless technological innovations. Without it - and without you - most things will remain utopian!

For us, and for you, practical relevance is important! 14 ECTS points are reserved for your internship, which you can complete either in Austria or elsewhere. To this end, we build on a broad and profound scientific foundation, preparing you for your career in the best possible way. Our graduates work in finance and insurance, in technology companies, in consulting, in the medical and pharmaceutical sectors, but also in (international) research institutions.

Entry requirements

You do not have to go through a special admission procedure to start the Master's degree programme in Mathematics in Klagenfurt.

You only have to meet the following conditions, which also apply to all other programmes:

Bachelor's degree programme in Mathematics or a degree programme of equivalent academic value at another post-secondary educational institution
Proof of proficiency in English at Level B2 of the CEFR
