Foundation year: We have a foundation year option for students who do not meet the entry requirements for the degree course. This additional year of study will give you a grounding in the scientific skills required for this course, building your confidence, knowledge and skills for further study. After successful completion of the foundation year, you will progress to the full degree.

We expect our graduates will find work in scientific, technical or research fields relating to their chosen pathway, for example:

Entry requirements

For September 2024 and September 2025 entry: The entry requirements for this course are 120 - 128 tariff points including a minimum of 2 A-levels or equivalent. BTEC Extended Diploma: DDM.

Required subjects: All subjects considered.

See below some examples of the qualifications for entry onto Year 1 for September 2024 and September 2025 entry:

Chinese Senior High School Graduation Certificate (Huikao) average 80%, or Gaokao 71-76%. Grade depends on the course
France: Baccalaureate with 12.5–13 overall or 11.5-12 (international option)
Hong Kong HKDSE Diploma (4,4,4 from three subjects). Grade depends on the course
All India Senior School Certificate Examination (Standard XII) 70-75%
Spain: Titulo de Bachillerato with 7 to 7.5. Grade depends on course
Turkey: Devlet Lise Diplomasi/Lise Bitirme Diplomasi 3.5/5.0 or 70% to 4.0/5.0 or 80%

For September 2024 and September 2025 entry: If English is not your first language you'll need IELTS (Academic) 6.0 with minimum 5.5 in each of the 4 components or equivalent.
