About Adult Nursing, MSc - at Kingston University London

Our Adult Nursing MSc is ideal for careers in frontline and specialist nursing, as well as a range of leadership opportunities. You’ll study the foundations of nursing and healthcare, as well as the context of nursing within a range of client groups in your specific field. 

You’ll learn first-hand from experts in child, mental health and learning disabilities. Our experienced academic team has backgrounds in everything from cancer, dementia, ICU and A&E to neurology, acute medicine, community, sexual health and respiratory nursing.

Through intra-professional learning with experts in a range of fields, you’ll enhance your care skills and understand the complexities of nursing at individual and organisational levels.

You’ll even receive a £5,000 per year, non-repayable NHS Training Grant to support your studies. Check out the NHS Business Service Authority website to find out more.

Entry requirements

This course requires a degree at 2.2 or above, undertaken in the last five years.

The typical offer for this course is a degree at 2.2 or above, with evidence that you’ve undertaken academic studies in the last five years.

You’ll also need to have at least 650 hours of health or social care related experience completed in the two years before your application. We will ask you to complete an RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) claim form to demonstrate this. Along with a testimony, your RPL is a condition for entry to the programme.

This course also requires at least five GCSEs at grade C/4 or above in English language and mathematics, or equivalent qualifications

You’ll  need to submit a UCAS personal statement as part of your application. This should include:

  • How you have researched the nursing profession
  • Examples of how you have worked with vulnerable people or developed relevant skills in teams
  • How you have gained insight into the course 
  • Any personal qualities related to nursing

Admission is subject to occupational health screening and an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, including checks against the Adult and Child Workforce Barring Lists.

If your initial application is successful, we’ll invite you to an online interview. This will include a series of short value-based questions, tasks or scenarios.
